Welcome to the Conservative Party

The time has come for Conservatives and like-minded Independents to secede from their respective parties and join the Conservative Party of the United States of America.

The National Republican Party has consistently failed to uphold conservative principles on so many levels since Ronald Reagan that it can no longer be considered a legitimate representative of traditional American conservative values. That is also true for most Utah State Republicans. While Utah is known as a “Red” state, with the state Republicans dominating the Utah political landscape for decades, many Republican office holders are far from being conservative.  The American Conservative Union ranks Utah’s legislature as the 23rd most conservative state on their 2016 survey of state legislatures.  Utah is just behind the “conservative” stalwart state of New Hampshire (A New England state rates ahead of a western state like Utah?), and just of ahead of Wisconsin.  That rating is reflective of a moderately governed state, and it is certainly reflective of Utah office holders.   It is certainly NOT reflective of the conservatism of the state population as a whole. A 2014 Gallup poll ranked Utah’s populace as the 4th most conservative in the nation.  There is a clear shortcoming between the conservative tendencies of the people of Utah, and their elected representatives who belong to the Republican Party of Utah.  The Conservative Party of Utah rectifies that shortcoming.

Not hard to understand

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.  You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
